My husband is one of those, born in 1949, whose 16 year old mother in rural Ohio gave him up and Catholic Charities adopted him out at 11 months old. His adoptive parents were good people and good parents.
How sad that people would kill their baby so it can avoid a hypothetical bad life that statistically is unlikely to happen.
As an aside, those nuns took very good care of him with lots of attention because there are no attachment issues with this man at all. He is a wonderful loving big personality guy and I wish I could meet his birth mother (who if alive would be 92) and just worship and thank her for allowing him to have his life.
Lovely story. God bless you and your husband, his mother, and those nuns.
There is a Safe Surrender box at the fire station up the street from me.
I am from rural Ohio myself. Good people there generally.
It is a shame that Catholic Charities aren't in that business any more.
Political correctness injected into law forced them out of true charitable work.
And now we have homosexuals buying babies. And the children are predictably victimized.
