He was trained in China on some of his numerous trips there. He loves Chinese Communism. Can’t get enough of it.
Walz said many times he made 30 or more trips to China. His
Vice Presidential campaign staff has said it was closer to 15 trips.
“Tim Walz taught English and American history in China for a year in 1989 as part of a Harvard-affiliated program, WorldTeach, at Foshan No. 1 High School in Guangdong Province, China, a role he’s described as formative and intended to build people-to-people connections.”
“Walz and his wife later organized summer trips for Minnesota students to China for over a decade, further deepening his involvement.
His China experience has become a notable part of his background, influencing his political views, though it’s also become a topic of discussion as his national profile grew.”

Voice of America article:
...Walz was nicknamed “Fields of China” by his students in China due to his kindness.
His time in China had an impact on his perspectives of Chinese people’s lives under the ruling Communist Party, describing teaching in China as “one of the best things” he has ever done, in a 1990 interview.
His interest in China didn’t stop there. Upon returning to the United States, Walz and his wife set up a company named “Educational Travel Adventures” to coordinate summer trips to China for American high school students.
