Horrible. Sounds like the early 1900s. Send a telegraph Morse Code message at the country store that you’ll be heading out by a 15 mph car over muddy roads and will be there in a few hours.
It is astounding, but sadly, par for the course for Californians. Some of them have come to accept this as reasonable. Like NYers are about to experience.
