It is beautiful, but the problem with New York (city or state) is that it is full of New Yorkers. My SIL is of middle eastern ancestry from Buffalo and she’s a know-it-all pain in the ass.

Those of us raised in the south should know better, so I don’t know what my brother was thinking, but he’s stuck with her now. And he wonders why family has drifted away.
