That very regrettable event was over a half century ago while the ship was spying on the Israeli Defense forces and reportedly sending advance movements information to the enemy forces attacking Israel. Would not have been the first time.
We need to come to grips with the fact that there have always been Nazi operatives in America. They embedded themselves in defense and intelligence agencies (as well as in the notorious “Snake Dept”). They’ve never adequately been removed. If anyone’s looking for actual conspiracies that endanger USA, this is a real place to start.
And yes, it very well (but not necessarily) was a simple mistake. And the key thing here is that the odds of a repeat after all these years are pretty much NIL. Why? Because the two countries work much better together now. Because they have direct arena communications channels between their active forces in the region. Because they share instant commend- level operations together. And because both nations have satellite and other advanced information- gathering assets that render sending spy ships into areas of danger obsolete. Spy ships still exist but are basically historical artifacts of a bygone era. They’re most useful, frankly, for economic intelligence purposes.
It hurts to see such antisemitic old tropes still in circulation. Great Britain attacked America many times (yes, with our tax money too) and we aren’t subjected to anti- British propaganda based on that history. They also conspired openly and covertly to “drag” USA into “their” war — we don’t see these things being rehashed now that UK might need help extricating itself, reversing the islamicist invasion.
No matter what Jerusalem does or does not do, PDJT has made clear that USA will prevent the (very dangerous) Iranian dictatorship from acquiring nuclear weapons or the ICBMs. If Israel never existed in any of its 3300 year history, this will be regardless. We don’t need any super secret far- fetched conspiracy to “drag” America into “war?”
