As I’ve mentioned before, it may be time to eliminate AI. Now it may be useful & purposeful for some good things, but how do you separate it from being used for imitating people & their voices when it is used in an illegal manner?
What I wrote was no "excuse." Rather, it was merely making an observation that - given the general moral climate and political conditions in DC - it is to be expected that any attempt to rectify the appalling situation (of the fraudulent likeness of people being generated using A.I.) will undoubtedly be exploited by certain bad actors for their own nefarious ends.
The correct inference would thus have been: alexander_busek warns that we must be ever vigilant - not that I advocate doing nothing.

VDH’s videos all have his company’s watermark in the upper right corner. He said that is the way to spot the lie. He also noted that each of the fakes flash a disclaimer — to ward off legal attack.
Require all videos to have some sort of lingering watermark. If not there, immediate banning and jail time. Ditto for re-posting.
VDH underwent major surgery at Stanford Medical Center five days ago. The unreleased diagnosis seemed foreboding. Does anyone on this thread know his postoperative medical status? Prayers for Victor!
Today AI is entertaining us and finding us deals on online, so everyone is onboard with it, but AI will dumb us down and we’ll pay for it later with our liberties, morals and mental health.
Before too long we won’t be able to trust our memory, intellect or senses. Nothing we own, including our reputation, will be safe. Those that don’t live in blissful ignorance will live is existential fear, understanding they can be obliterated with a keystroke.
Beelzebub is being automated and Babel is being resurrected. So people should buy themselves a good printed paper Bible while they still can, so at least they will have one source of truth and hope to hold on to. Pay cash for it too.
I’ve seen them. At first it took a few minutes to realize it was deep fake but now I spot them pretty fast. He’s not the only one. I’ve seen fake Meirsheimer (sp) videos - though in his case it doesn’t matter) his takes are as wrong as he’s been. I’ve seen fake Elon Musk. I saw fake Thomas Sowell. The other day I saw fake Pat Buchanan! That one was easy to spot in a second, he hasn’t been around much at all in many years. Looked like he did when he was running for president. No way he hasn’t aged a bit since then.
There’s also that one “guy” who somehow narrated 500,000,000 videos. He must be super wealthy.
