What a horrible accident! This happened in 2022. It sure takes a long time for cases to come to trial. 20 years seems light for killing 3 people.

The courts are backed up with deportation and immigration cases. As a result, there are not enough judges, etc. to handle this stuff. So everything gets backed up.

"Justice delayed is justice denied" used to be a thing, but now it's just a result of spending time and money doing the wrong thing and then wondering "how did things get to be this bad??????"
