You can also harvest the needles off a tree. That’s what I did during lockdown. I couldn’t find any white pine locally, but we have several red pines. I told the tree what I was doing, took a couple of handfuls, and then thanked it. I’m a tree hugger. ā˜ŗļø then just make sure you rinse them well, put them in a teapot with a stick of cinnamon and a few whole cloves, then pour boiling water over, cover and let it steep, then pour through a strainer into a mug and sweeten with honey. It’s so good!

Oh, and don’t make the mistake I did and put it in the garbage disposal. That required a plumber’s visit. Just dispose the needles in the trash.
