Florida man Michael Green is suing the Outback Steakhouse in Ocala because he says a toilet shattered and collapsed beneath him, causing "significant and permanent loss of an important bodily function."
The toilet in Outback was allegedly unbolted, which caused it to shift around on the tile. When Green sat down to unload his Bloomin' Onion, he apparently found himself Down Under instead.
Green says he suffered severe bodily harm from the shards of porcelain and is suing for damages in excess of $50,000.
A jury will decide if he'll get a fair-dinkum payout.

I am part of a cleaning and home maintenance Reddit group. They always emphasize that people replace toilets that get any damage or cracks because of how sharp the porcelain is and how dangerous it would be if it broke further while someone was using it. Slicing into arteries, etc. Apparently, there have been some really horrific injuries (and huge blood loss) reported from using cracked/broken toilets.
I cannot imagine…yeesh.
Right? I think these are the kind of injuries that are possible from broken porcelain. From what I’ve heard, the porcelain is so sharp that it slices right through arteries and people have actually bled out before medical help arrived.
I will never mess around with a cracked toilet, believe me.
The author was having lots of fun writing that article. 😂
Aaannnnd scene.

I’ve seen two cracked toilets I can remember & both were just leaking water on the floor fortunately.
That is my guess. That said, my elderly parents recently had a toilet installed incorrectly. It wasn't an issue for a spring chicken, but was an issue for an over weight person or one with bad knees, etc..
