One of the complexities and weight addition to US subs is the primary reactor shielding. It protected the crew from radiation… we got monitored closely for our radiation exposure and actually got less than ambient radiation we we would have gotten in everyday life. We were told that Russian subs save money and weight by going cheap on the shielding, and the crew consequently git significant radiation exposure; to the point Russian crew members were not allowed to have children. I assume Korean subs will be similar.

assuming these fools are really building one, they’ll be worse, much worse, in terms of blasting crew members with deadly radiation ...
