I respectfully disagree. There is a group one the left that is a couple SDs away from the mean. Just as there are really, really MAGA folks that far away from the mean in the other direction.
A vast majority in the country are middle of the road and want to be left alone. I think a good chunk of those people look at the trolling and just shake their heads. These are people who not bullies, nor do they feel oppressed. They act with kindness. They work hard.
The perpetual nasty tone grates on them. It’s as annoying as the woke/dei stuff was.
Long term, the next GOP candidate is going to have to either stay THAT course—which would make them seem like an imposter. Or, they will have to disavow the tactic, and that will lose them votes from the MAGA base. It is detrimental to the future of the movement.
It’s not that Trump shouldn’t do it in response to something’s. But he seems to be taking shots without provocation. It comes across, in my opinion, poorly.
