A grand jury has chosen not to indict the father of two Kentucky State University students who faced murder charges following an on-campus shooting that left one student dead and another critically wounded.
Following Tuesday's hearing, defense lawyer Scott Danks announced via social media that grand jurors voted against indicting his client, Jacob Lee Bard, for the Dec. 9 shooting, and he has been released from custody. Bard's legal team previously told media outlets that 20 to 30 individuals had assembled to attack his son and family, and that he acted justifiably in shooting two people who were assaulting his son.
Following the grand jury's determination, Kentucky State officials stated they "will cooperate with law enforcement and investigators as appropriate" and remain committed to student safety and welfare.
According to Bard's lawyers, the family was relocating their younger son from campus, accompanied by two armed campus police officers, after withdrawing both sons from the university due to "multiple armed, violent" incidents targeting them and other students in the days before Dec. 9, some documented on security footage.
When the family and an officer arrived at the dormitory entrance on move-out day, the masked and hooded group rushed forward and launched a violent assault on the family and others, including slamming the son's head against the pavement, the attorneys stated. In October, the younger son reported a dorm room burglary to campus police and subsequently received violent threats, according to the attorneys.

While investigators have labeled the shooting as isolated, they have yet to publicly disclose details of the circumstances or a potential motive. The incident resulted in the death of 19-year-old De'Jon Fox from Indianapolis.

[Black] Father of two boys at KSU who are being preyed upon and harassed by unknown individuals travels out of state to help them move out, is attacked, produces a handgun (which belongs to his wife, transported interstate), opens fire, kills a black student, is both freed and the MSM appears to be ignoring the story on multiple levels.
Very strange all around. Many questions.

I think I see the problem.
KSU sounds like a $hit show. A lot of the administration needs replacement.
Perhaps the Grand Jury looked at the evidence and determined he acted with in the Law. I understand that it grinds your gears to have it happen but according to the Law , people are allowed to defend themselves. I can see this torquing you off no end. You thought George Zimmerman should have been hanged too. Didn’t you.

That sounds like a terrible school to send your child for an education. Makes you wonder why that college was chosen?
Maybe the two sons had a low grade point average, and this school was one of the few who accepted them.

Totally legal.
A mob of 20-30 masked thugs attacked a man helping his son move from a place that had become dangerous. He defends himself and isn’t charged. Why would that raise questions or seem strange that he wasn’t arrested?
The only strange thing was that the university lets the school run like a prison cell block.
And the dad was arrested (very unjustly) until a grand jury refused to indict him.
When Zimmermann’s name is invoked, I think of Trayvon Martin and Pam Bondi, a public booster of Martin.

It’s shameful that he ever had to go before a grand jury. He should have been celebrated throughout the state. Kentucky Republicans need to make an issue out of this — if they’re still awake.
That’s the other question: Why almost no one has come to his defense. Following his arrest, the man was given $1 million bail for a clear self-defense case. In Kentucky. WTH.
