Personally I am opposed to any form of early voting. The argument is that all voters should have the latest current information about the candidates and issues on election day.

We saw in VA where early votes were accepted well before the public found out about the AG candidate's threats of violence toward opposition politicians.

It’s the terms that are confusing and perplexing. “mail in” and “absentee”....

Absentee isn’t EARLY but a person does have the right to go to a designated spot here, where EARLY voting is being done. I’ve never done that but have had to vote Absentee in recent years...The ballot has to be back in the mail and received by a certain time. Voted for years in CA and we were always provided with proposition information - for/against - and bio on everyone running for office...That’s missing here in GA so we do have to pay attention and search for the info online.

Nothing is consistent - except CHANGE!

“Personally I am opposed to any form of early voting.”

Well, the certifiably disabled and off-shore Americans need mail-in balloting but it should not be allowed for any other reason. In-person early voting is OK as long as the ‘early’ part is only a few days - 7 or less. Multi-week lead times result in issues like the one you describe.
