We saved a nestling Mockingbird that fell out of its nest. Hand fed it until it was old enough to travel to the Tucson Wildlife Preserve to learn how to be a real Mockingbird. We called him Jasper. After a couple of months he was old enough to be released, and they let us bring him back to the tree from which he fell. For several years, Jasper would come back and talk to us as we had our morning coffee by the pool. We would raise our hands up and call Jasper, and he would jump up from the top of his favorite tree. This went on for several years so we think he taught his offspring about us. The world is stranger that we ever imagined.

Mocking birds HATE crows. Mockingbirds are absolutely fearless when they attack crows. Crows are scared of mockingbirds.

Ironically, what mockingbirds do to crows, crows do to owls. Crows will mob an owl giving it no peace until it's chased far away.
