I wonder what the forces behind the scenes led to the Democrats insisting on a debate before the conventions. Did someone want to humiliate Biden into quitting? Or did they think that he could still be juiced up enough to appear coherent for one last time in June and then refuse future debates.

that’s the question EVERYONE paying attention would really like to know the answer too: the motivation [*WHY* and what did they expect] and who “THEY” were, in other words, WHO was in the inner-inner circle that made the decision, and finally how did that decision trickle out of the inner-inner circle to the different lower levels ...

i wonder if we’ll ever know, or was everything so compartmentalized that the eventual death of a few key players will seal those secrets forever?
