Mazda is supposed to releasing a car with a rotary engine that powers a generator. The rotary gets to run at a constant speed with no need to change gears, and the car does not need the massive battery pack that full EVs require.
Sort of an iteration of the Volt concept. I look forward to seeing the end result.

Mazda is supposed to releasing a car with a rotary engine that powers a generator.I hope it is better than the 1972 Mazda RX-2, rotary engine that I had. The engine blew up at 44,000 miles.
