Why are so many in the West in denial about the evolution of China?
I think their manufacturing “ecosystem” is the smart way to go. I worked for a logistics company. Various parts go down, and production stops while waiting for a part. (A part from Argentina to Alberta, CA comes to mind)
In China, with their ecosystem, a manufacturer needs a part, say a company that makes hair dryers needs more electric cords. The electric cords are from a plant 5 blocks away.
Here, I remember expediting mylar bags from Mexico rushing to Pennsylvania for a candy company. I really don’t see us catching up to their streamlined approach.
“Why are so many in the West in denial about the evolution of China?”
Sadly many are so called “conservatives”, ignorant people who like to make themselves feel superior by calling them Chicoms and lull themselves in believing that they’re dealing with Mao’s communist China.
In many ways we’re more communist than they are. There’s no such thing as DEI in China - they’re much more a merit society, and they don’t denigrate profits.
