I think Reiner was completely consumed with hatred for Trump and all things related to Trump. Frankly, outside of that compulsion, he was probably a pretty nice guy.
We can take a lesson from that: never get so consumed with anger and hate that we forget our humanity.
Yup.
Funny how political differences especially online can foster great anger.
Old geezers like me remember “Meathead” very well and liked the character, and love "When Harry Met Sally", but when Reiner came out with vicious Trump hatred, all that went out the door. Its fine for people to belong to different political parties or there'd be no elections, but don't carry political disagreements to constantly calling your political opponent, "Hitler".
never get so consumed with anger and hate that we forget our humanity.
And the way to do that is to have a good foundation. Understand human nature and why you do and think the way you do.
I do not perceive Trump as an angry man. He says things to make you think, to challenge your thinking. Sometimes it is MAGA, sometimes logic, sometimes your emotions. Trump is very goal oriented. MAGA is always the agenda.
But it depends on your ears as to what you hear.

I have posted the above often and will continue to do so until someone reads it. It will serve you well.
Which is why I stay on a restricted diet of politics. I can eat anything and remain healthy, but I have to watch what goes into my mind. In the past 5 years I've quit everything on Fox News (Hannity, Laura, Gutfeld, the Five, Tucker) by tapering off gradually. That's several hours a day I can devote to learning what's true, good, beautiful, etc. Meanwhile I get all the news I need from FR. And I feel much better for it.
