Sherrone Moore had excellent qualifications. First of all, he was handpicked by National Championship winning head coach to replace himself as head coach. He was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2023, when they won the National Championship, and he was actually the acting head coach, while Harbaugh couldn't be the coach. Why would Harbaugh risk his chance to win a championship on any coach other than who he had the best chance to win?
Also, in 2021 and 2022, he was the co-OC, and offensive line coach. Both years, his offensive line won the Joe Moore award for best offensive line in all of college football. No school in history won two years in a row.
