I have been around dopers, and it is a scourge.

I stated quite clearly that I have known a pretty good number of chronic users and have never seen this condition. I have known guys that literally smoke up every single day (after work on the weekdays) since freaking high school. I'm willing to bet that I have a far greater sample size for my conclusions than you have for yours. The fact that so many people on these threads lose their damn minds screaming about "potheads" and the like tells me that their feelings on the subject aren't quite scientific.

I don't think pot, itself, is such a horrible thing, as long as one uses it in moderation, any more than I think alcohol is a horrible thing when used in moderation. What IS a scourge is the pot/drug CULTURE, where some people make it their whole lives and show no respect for others.

That seems reasonable enough. Experience matters, and experience in these matters is a matter of complete zenith paramountcy if there is to be a coherent discussion regarding the pros and cons of marijuana or “marihuana”, which is probably more controversial than it should to be. It’s like a mob of life-long vegetarians trying to argue with non-”vegans” over how they should grill their steaks.
