I don’t mean to slight the NG, but they usually have civilian jobs and serve in the Guard part-time, while Marines and other “Regular Forces” are active-duty personnel and are, presumably, always combat-ready. It’s not hard to identify which might be more capable of dealing with the most troublesome invaders ... a most excellent example of ‘Be careful what you wish for.”.
