I have a gas line to the house, but unfortunately, my portable generator runs on gasoline, not natural gas. So it would be a no-go.

For short term outages, the little generator would be fine - enough to run the fridge, couple of lamps, a TV and the computer. Maybe a fan. Not much more than that. Emergency use only.

You can get tri-fuel carburetors for that will let it run on propane. Much easier to store than gasoline.
