Folks in the post-war generation born between 1946 and 1964 are now sixty or older. Scanning social media, it’s hard to miss the anger building against Baby Boomers. Those born after them are increasingly placing the blame for their woes on the unrelenting greed of the Baby Boomer generation. They believe that the Boomers had the sheer luck to be born when America was in its ascendency, and so they accumulated all the wealth, and now they are determined to take it all with them to the grave, not sharing a penny with the generations which came after.
[DISCLAIMER: This post about growing PERCEPTIONS of Boomers. It’s not about how I feel, it’s about the growing anger toward older Americans, deserved or not.]

So add anger toward the Baby Boomer generation to the anger of Blacks against Whites, the poor against the rich, socialists against capitalists, Democrats against Trump Republicans, and a witch’s brew of social anger is being stirred with more and more fire building under the bubbling pot.
Our social contract is so frayed that when riots begin the withheld anger boils over.
White Baby Boomers living in single-family homes in affluent suburbs will be at the greatest risk of any demographic. The anger toward them will be come from several social vectors at the same time. People displaced from urban cores by rampant criminality will have no compunction at all against invading the homes of empty-nest Baby Boomers. Their lives will be taken in the first minutes if they are fortunate. If not, their prolonged abuse and torture will serve to amuse the new tenants. Read up on what happens to farmers in South Africa when their homes are attacked if you think I’m being hyperbolic. This is one screen capture, I could post pages and pages.
Do you think that the people who live in nice suburbs like the one shown below are ready for the hellscape and sh**storm that will ensue if and when America suffers a social breakdown, one that can result from any of the maladies now simmering in that witch’s cauldron? We could experience a financial collapse of our own creation, or a cyber attack by our enemies, or a direct kinetic attack against our exposed and undefended power grid.
Will the folks living on these leafy suburban streets be ready for armed, organized and mobile bands of desperate urban poor who are looking to relocate and upgrade their crib at the same time? In third-world countries, these homes would at least have walls around them. In our current “high trust” society, these homes can be approached from all directions, without as much as a security guard in sight. And you can take it at as given fact that there will be no official police making house calls, and your desperate calls to 911 will only get a busy signal, or a taped “please hold” message. NYC spends ~$36,000/year/student on average on K-12 education.
Oh, and BTW, I am making my millenial children rich beyond their needs when I cash in the chips because they were smart enough to drive 10 and 15 year old cars and live in houses they can afford. And, I’m not leaving nothing to the animal shelter where they disappear the dogs and cats, or some ghetto food pantry enabling the unwashed to continue their immoral drug fest.
This is just a temporary branding of a larger long term plan by the left, this is about a larger narrative of overcoming America of the past and how GOP voters and the previous white America is an old and dying evil to overcome and replace.
This is about shaping the minds and politics of the young and non-white/immigrant.
The media can pretend it is about “boomers” right now, but the left’s success in making hatred against white Americans and GOP voting seniors complete, and tying it to capitalism and lifetime financial growth and single dwelling homes and yards didn’t start with boomers and it won’t end with them.
I would like to say all of this is by design, but it is not. Regardless of my circumstances though, I am content and honestly, if I could move into a smaller, more comfortable rental, I would.
What a joke. Baby Boomers like me were raised poor and once knew the value of a dollar which is now worth about 10 cents.
I bought a vandalized house, spent 5 years rebuilding it and then sold my other and have been debt free for 30 years. Paid off my cars and have had no debts except property TAXES! As for my children, everything is in a TRUST and when I choke and croak they will inherit it all. Good for them.
Between 1880 and 1960 the inflation rate was 100 %.

I was born in 1946, a first year Boomer now 79 years old. Yeah I got the big house and all the stuff. But in just a blink the Boomers will get old and die and this “problem “ will not longer exist.
That is my initial thought as well.
If parents want their adult children to treat them with respect they need to treat the adult children with respect...
and of course vice versa.

When I worked in a hot steel fabrication shop in 1972-1977 I knew the value of a dollar, saved all I could. I remember young people coming in, working hard and saved their money, then after a two months of work would quit and go PARTY for a few months. Then come back begging their old job back as they were flat broke. No wonder they hate those who saved for the future.
I encouraged my brother to give some NOW rather than later to the nieces and nephews. It is an entertaining process and I encourage all of you to do the same to TEST the situation.

“Boundaries” is a big progressive woke thing that millennials are doing to assert control over their parents. It’s a result of selfishness and mental illness combined where the kids place ridiculous limits on the parents. Only accepting contact with a parent unless meetings are scheduled is one example. The refusal of your daughter to even meet briefly with her mother while she was in town because it wasn’t scheduled is another example.
The kids go on Reddit and instagram and brag about how they showed their evil, MAGA parents who is really in charge by punishing them with boundaries, going so far as to not allow the parents to see the grandchildren. It’s really the result of out of control liberal psychology and psychopathy.

Yes, she was awful, but getting back to the bright side, a lot of people who consistently vote D, declined to vote for her. A lot of minorities know a (whatever) when they see one. Harris did worse than Biden, almost everywhere.
First the left created a myth by Tom Brokaw creating a fake generation that he called the “Greatest Generation”, and the left erased the generation called the “Silent Generation”, and then created a myth of 3 year olds and 20 year olds taking over America in the 1960s and completely changing everything, and now building on those myths to sell to young voters that the old white Americans are stealing everything from them, have always stole everything from others, and need to be defeated and replaced by an America of color, economic fairness, equality, and immigration.

Hard for me to get past the headline without a smirk. The hed reminds me of that white people criticism chart that condemned things like being on time, setting goals, working hard, etc., all traits taught and valued by generations up to and (partly) including baby boomers. This headline tells us that if we do all the (right) things in that chart, IOW follow the roadmap to success, we deserve to have our success taken from us by the people that refuse to follow the roadmap but instead demand we share our success with them. The threat is that the grasshopper, instead of expiring in the first freeze of winter, will take up arms to rob the ants. Forgetting that ants bite. Ants sting. Ants, in fact, dismantle dead grasshoppers and store their parts in chambers in ant colonies.
What the story does not mention is that many baby boomers have trained their offspring in the roadmap to success. The next generation is already successful, if their parents were members of the ants clan. Our grandchildren will be with us.
The article is wishful thinking. When the looting moves from the downtown streets to the burbs, the whole equation changes. Besides, the guy in the photo is flipping off the photographer because the photog, another boomer, just said, “Does your wife know you’ve been stealing her sweaters out of her closet?”
