I stopped supporting them when they went gay.
It became Scouting For Boys.
“I stopped supporting them when they went gay.”
Same with me. I was a scout leader back in the 90’s when my boys were involved. BSA at the time required adult leaders to be trained in appropriate vs inappropriate behavior with kids. They also conducted background checks into potential adult leaders to ensure that they didn’t have any pedophiles filling leadership roles. We all had a patch sown on the left sleeve of our uniform that said “trained” after completion of the course.
Once the BSA decided that providing boys for gay scoutmasters was more important than providing growing opportunities for boys, they $#*+ in their own nest. Not smart.
Back in the ‘60s the Boy Scouts wanted to have their meetings in our church. They met in churches a lot back then.
Dad said they couldn’t; he had a bad feeling about where the organization was headed. He was prescient about a lot of things.
