I’ve been gathering together my grandfather’s newspaper articles. I’m near to transferring them to an Amazon book but, until I do, I have the book up as a webpage. Grandfather was fascinated by those new fangled airmail planes and used to stand out at the local airport to watch the pilots come and go, then write their stories - the music the wires made in flight, the horrible experience of flying thru a flock of birds, the reaction of people at the airport to the sight of an airplane standing still in the air as it couldn’t make headway because of the winds it was flying into.
He was a rare earths prospector who won and lost fortunes from Alaska down to Central America, and I find him the most fun read. He frequently took side jobs as deputy sheriff so also had a lot of crime stories.
