There is an issue of moral character involved. For that matter, the homosexual should not be serving on that school board.

While the New Testament deals only with the qualifications for church offices of elder and deacon, Biblical principles must be applied to the offices of civil magistrates. While we are not subject to the ordinances of Old Testament Israel, those principles should apply as guidelines. In Exodus 18:21, Moses gave an outline of qualifications: honest and able men, men of truth, hating covetousness. While these qualifications are not as stringent as those for church office, homosexuals and pornographic actresses cannot be considered honest or truthful.
