We saw The Tubes several times at the Boarding House in San Francisco. Amazing, small venue.
We still have the original vinyl records.
Quay Lewd can sing!
What Do You Want From Life
Slipped My Disco
Don't Touch Me There
Malaguena Salerosa!
Being in a state of alarm is not a very scientific response.
I lived in the Naples area for three years. I remember sitting in school, having class about the eruption and seeing Vesuvius out of the classroom windows.
It was pretty cool having these things in class and then going on field trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum.
I thought it would be cool to see a volcano erupt.... Until. I was in Argentina when Mt Puyehue blew and what a mess. Luckily I was just a tourist and could leave but the people under that ash cloud were not having fun.
Thailand?
I'd forgotten about that one. How could I?
From Sorrento you can catch a ferry to go to Amalfi, Position, Naples and Capri.
Or you can take the train to Pompeii and Naples.
Then there is a bus to take you around the peninsula.
IF you dare you can also rent scooters if you don’t value your life.
The only place we didn’t go was the island east of Naples. I can’t remember the name, Starts with an I.
Everyone says that it is even nicer than Capri and not as expensive.
I would like to go back and stay on Capri for a few days.
We only spent a few hours there. Not enough.
We are considering going to Milan next year.
Jet blue just started flying direct from Boston.
My wife wants to go to the Cinque Terra and I would like to go to Lake Como. Those are both a quick train ride from Milan. Spend a few days in Milan too.
See the Last Supper, Dump, etc.
Ischia. Absolutely beautiful.
But then again, the whole coast is.
Thanks... the map was too small for me to see...
Darn auto correct.
I meant Position.
Beautiful place, but quite a tourist trap.
The only place where we really felt like we got ripped off for a meal.
Then in Milan we would like to see the Dumo.
Not the Dump.
That is it.
Thanks.
It did it AGAIN.
Positono.
No friend, just posting as location was not listed and lots of us FR peeps are on our phones, just following the topics.
Better throw Greta in, just to be safe.
Well, this is just too much fun on a Sunday!
I have a Grateful Dead t-shirt that embodies The Tubes:
When The Going Gets Weird, The Weird Turn Pro
Heck, while we're at it, who remembers Beach Blanket Babylon?
I was there on a beautiful fall day in 2017, and you could easily imagine how nice life in Pompeii was before the eruption.
Not crazy about Milan, but Como is lovely, and Rapallo is a wonderful base for visiting Cinque Terra and Portofino.
Thailand... seismic activity caused a huge cravat to open...
But that poor volcano...
