New York, maybe, but CT pizza isn't just New Haven Pizza. The guineas that settled in CT came from all over Italy and Sicily. Each family's pizzeria has a slightly different take. Some do flat, crispy crust. Others have a puffy outer crust that is like ciabatta. Some sauce is zestier than others, some have fresher basil. Wood fired. Gas ovens. Whatever floats your boat. But if you want over processed factory crap, yeah, go with one of the lame chains. I'll take the variety made by real goombas.

The worst pizza I ever tried was a frozen low priced ,(brand forgotten) ;the box would have been tastier.
