WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a loyal supporter-turned-critic of President Donald Trump who faced his political retribution if she sought reelection, said Friday she is resigning from Congress in January.
Greene, in a more than 10-minute video posted online, explained her decision and said she didn’t want her congressional district “to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for,” she said.
The opening in her district means Republican Gov. Brian Kemp will have to set a special election date within 10 days of Greene’s resignation. Such a special election would fill out the remainder of Greene’s term through January 2027. Those elections could take place before the party primaries in May for the next two-year term.

President Trump was handling affairs of State - meeting with another Head of State and another elected official. He's doing his job.

Oh, she’ll probably continue to appear on those programs to bash her own party just like Liz Cheney did.
In Georgia a special election can be held when a vacancy is announced, so they may be able to schedule it on or not long after she is out in order to get the seat filled soon.
A lot of MAGA including in her district: back her up especially on things like H1B’s and foreign war spending.
Cost of living and affordability is a major thing for Americans who vote red.
If she wants her own way or she’ll take her ball and go home then she really might be more comfortable outside the party. This is a team effort and she’s not a team player. There are several in the Republican party who only want to belong if they get their way...

They can’t all be RINOs. You can’t just dismiss all of them like that or throw the term around .MTG is no RINO i dont care if she talks to CNN or not she’s one of the most conservative house members!
She has made an awful lot of bucks since entering Congress. Became a multimillionaire in a short amount of time while everyone else is struggling.
She is not like Massie though.
She has been a team player and a key vote when needed.
But Trump has dropped the ball as captain due to Epstein saga, and being out of touch with the domestic cost of living concerns of most Americans right now.
I do not know why but she turned into a traitor and l’m glad she’s leaving . Her doing the rat propaganda circuit was disgusting

She went kinda wacky in the head. Unstable. She thought everyone would love her whatever she did and said, and found out thats not true. Her own self-created pressure got to her.

If she was actually focused on affordability, and working to help fix it instead of just bitching about her own team, she wouldn’t be in this mess.
Go look at her X feed, she has been talking more about Epstein than affordability. Not laser focused, if you know what I mean.
This entire civil war in the Republican Party is over Israel.
MTG will not be the last casualty in this war.
I hope it’s worth it.
