The core concept of agentic AI is the use of AI agents to perform automated tasks with limited human intervention. While robotic process automation (RPA) systems automate rule-based, repetitive tasks with fixed logic, agentic AI adapts based on data inputs. [Agentic AI refers to autonomous systems capable of pursuing complex goals with minimal human intervention, often making decisions based on continuous learning and external data.] Functioning agents can require various AI techniques, such as natural language processing, machine learning (ML), and computer vision, depending on the environment.

Knowing Microsoft count on it being default and mandatory as their new OS.
Ping!.....................
I hear they’re going to completely redesign the BSD.
I don’t even know what this stuff means. đ
I was forced in to the windows 11 realm for security requirements from a customer. I have a beast of a computer. MS dropped it’s gigantic turd on the hard drive and what a stinker. My old XP machines ran faster. It had THREE instances of their crap Co-Pilot running in the back ground. No option to turn them off when installed. So I finally got those sorted out (one instance from the OS, one instance from MS Office, One instance from “Teams” for some reason.) So much garbage was installed in the back ground it took days to sort them all out. Then all the special effects were garbage that just sucked resources. AND, what would an upgrade be without eliminating, or at least hiding, all the old hot keys and context menus we had been using for a decade. I can only imagine this new garbage forced AI will hog more power and bandwidth while providing nothing valuable.
Give me AI that sorts my emails and tax books and I’ll use it. Until then, get off MY hardware.
“I donât even know what this stuff means.”
Windows will be making decisions for you and telling you what to do...
“I can only imagine this new garbage forced AI will hog more power and bandwidth while providing nothing valuable.”
A huge important point there for sure!
Spyware on steroids.
I am looking at alternatives. Maybe Windows 10 LTSC.
It sounds like windows will be doing secret things to you that you might have no knowledge. Like creating accounts.
I have been migrating toward increased linux usage for years. Keep it up MicroSh!t.... Im almost gone for good.
Good thing I only use windows for a few games , wish more gaming developers would use Linux ,LOL
I have been all Linux for ten years now...Never missed one thing.
Maybe the better thing to do would be to reinstate Windows 8 which made more sense to me. Or maybe start developing Windows 12 in a sensible manner. Too early to say, but I have the impression that many people are not going to like Windows 11.
This has always been useless. You follow the questions to the end and it basically says, "yeah, you have a problem" and doesn't fix it.
Linux...
When Microsoft talks about turning Windows into an âAgentic OS,â it sounds complicated, but the basic idea is simple: the operating system would have AI agents that can act on your behalf, almost like tiny digital assistants built into your PC. These agents can run in their own separate accounts, work in isolated âworkspaces,â and access certain folders like Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Music, Pictures, and Videos. Essentially, they could perform tasks automatically or assist you with things you normally do manually â like organizing files, summarizing documents, or even sending emails â all in parallel with what youâre doing.
The big selling point is convenience and productivity. Your PC could do more for you, without you having to open a program or click through menus. But there are serious security and privacy concerns. Giving these agents the ability to access your files and act on your behalf opens up new ways that mistakes or malicious attacks could happen. For example, a poorly designed agent, or one tricked by a malicious input, could delete files, share sensitive information, or perform other unintended actions. Even though Microsoft says these agents run in isolated environments and create logs of their activity, the potential for abuse or accidents is real.
So, the âAgentic OSâ is essentially Windows trying to become a smarter, more active partner in your daily computing â but itâs not just a new feature, itâs a change in how the system interacts with your data. Users need to understand that enabling it gives AI some level of control over parts of their computer, and that introduces both power and risk. Itâs a promising concept, but one that requires caution, awareness, and careful management of what the agents are allowed to do.

The problem is it will all be perpetually connected to MS in real time. So it will be you, AI agents, AND MS as a steward over the AI and you....
My other computer came with win7 then it got upgraded to win10 and it really sucked, now it said my computer does not meet specs for win11, so I took of my fairly new computers I had in office and installed Server19, none of the stupid crap win 10 or 11 has and not scheduled to lose support anytime in the future. It was a bit of work getting my printers to work but I finally got it all working yesterday, took half the day. I only need windows to run Quickbooks Pro otherwise I would use Linux for everything
And monitoring and controlling all of it in real time as a third party. AI gives them the computing power to do this.
