If we are not in the last days of the Church Age, it is a good imitation thereof. Pastors should stop being “winsome” and preach from Scripture and only Scripture even when the Word of God offends liberal sensibilities. Soul winning, not seeker friendly. Stop the endless “7-11” songs from “worship teams” and sing the classic hymns of the faith that have sound doctrine. Place the Bible paraphrases like the New Living Translation and The Message into the recycling bin and use word for word translations. Some people find the King James translation hard to understand but it is infinitely preferable to the paraphrases.
