That Death Wobble hit us a few days ago. 65mph and the front wheels felt like we would tumble because they were going back and forth so much. It will be going to the shop under warrantee. It seems they change the steering stabilizer and ball joints.
My 2008 F-250 did the death wobble twice after I’d owned it for about 9 years (long out of warranty). I had the upper and lower ball joints, steering dampener, tie rod, and front shocks replaced and it hasn’t done it again in 8 years and about 40,000 miles, but I still cringe a little and grab the wheel tighter when I hit a bump on the highway. These days I pretty much only use the pickup for hunting and hauling things, not much highway mileage.
The steering stabilizer is Jeeps go to fix.
I hate to be a downer but from my research and 1st hand experience I doubt it will solve your problem.
From everything I’ve read and seen, the real issue is the steering box is flexing.
Jeep didn’t want to spend that kind of money so they did the cheapest thing possible.
If your steering box housing is aluminum, that’s probably the issue.
