The visual and audio alerts, alone, took your eyes away from that road. Yellow, lots or red, red coming from different places, noise alerts, vibrating steering wheel—strong turning steering wheel—all going nuts at the worst possible time.

It was like the car wanted its own doom, and was possessed—because it was.

“took your eyes away from that road”

That’s why I hate all the electronics. Even getting my iPhone audio to work on my 2014 Ford Expedition is a pain in the neck. The screen fonts are small, they aren’t very bright, they are confusing as heck, and they seem to randomly change. My Bluetooth connection used to be rock solid, but has gone wonky (random music dropouts on Spotify) so I now connect the phone with a USB wire. But that’s hard to get going, too. When it all works, I love it. But sometimes it takes 20 minutes to get simple music playing and it takes attention away from the road.
