Dearborn, Michigan, Mayor Abdullah Hammoud responded to noise complaints about a mosque's call to prayer, saying it's "not an issue."
Hammoud discussed the concern on the Nov. 3 episode of the "Not From Here" podcast. Local Dearborn citizens have complained in recent months that a nearby mosque has been broadcasting the call to prayer on loudspeakers multiple times a day, beginning as early as 5:30 a.m.
Though residents raised concerns during a September city council meeting, Hammoud insisted that the call to prayer under a certain decibel level is allowed under city ordinances and has been part of Dearborn life for decades.
"I would tell you is, you know, those complaining about the call to prayer, I mean it's a very, very few, you still want to respect the wishes and, if you have a serious concern, I have to uphold the law across all boards," Hammoud said. "But we've done decibel readings at these mosques, all within threshold, all within legal limit. And so for me, it's not an issue."

The residents voted them into office, don’t blame anyone but yourselves. Suckers.
The answer is a very loud rebuttal - Led Zeppelin at 120 db, on directional speakers aimed directly at the face religion’s “church” or wherever the miscreants do their call to prayer of their false god.
“… has been part of Dearborn life for decades.”
That’s the problem!
Twenty years ago I was in Dearborn and parts of the city looked like Tehran.
In Florida those speakers would be disappeared.
Aren’t loud speakers against their religion ? LOL
Key up Disaster Area, the loudest band in the Universe.
muslims in Dearborn have very high rate of mental issues maybe it’s the call to prayer
If I were a Christian Church (are there any left?) I think I’d find it necessary to put speakers in the steeple and broadcast hymns, maybe five times a day, at certain particular times. Making sure however to keep the volume below the noise ordinance level.
All that hollering and screaming ia part of the new Americana. We’ll be wearing burkas and riding camels next.
A few years ago we were looking at homes in a new neighborhood on a Saturday afternoon.....in leaving we noticed a mosque 1/4 mile down on the main road that appeared to be abandoned......next door was a Baptist church that was having a church barbecue.......that explained the uninhabited mosque. 😏
Wait don’t they have noise restrictions you know quit hours
The mayor is saying it doesn’t violate the noise ordinance. They’ll punish anyone else for doing it.
Pronto.
Exactly.
Preferably for billions of dollars.
Correct.
First time I ever heard the call was around 4am upon landing in Jordan after an overnight flight and I had just collapsed into my hotel bed. It droned on for about 5 to 10 minutes. Definitely a loudspeaker and not a human. My theory is Islam is mostly a grumpy religion because of this first crack of the dawn wake up call. It’s every day and there is no respite unless you get out of range.
It would be great if, at the same time the calls to prayer are playing, that Christians put up HUGE speakers on other buildings and BLAST Christian Hymns at the same times. I think Christians can pray 5 times a day too.
Saudi Arabia probably supplied the money for the mosques
