Respectable seems to be proper usage, if he was talking about Barron and how Barron behaved. Here is a definition from Cambridge.org:

considered to be socially acceptable because of your good character, appearance, or behavior:

I think it could be applied in such a way.

Respectful is probably a better word for the situation.
