The bus driver is still treated at hospital. In most news media it is talked about an underlying health-issue (epilepsy? TIA? MI?) but so far nothing is known for certain.

In Sweden train-drivers must have a health check-up every 3 years until 55 years of age and the every year. However, as far as I can find for bus drivers the need for health-checks are only when the special driving license has to be renewed which is every 5 years. In the age-span where this driver is a lot can happen health-wise under five years.

Running into ONE shelter? I could believe one of those underlying health issues.

But leaving one collision scene and then creating a SECOND?
