I agree about the afternoon naps. Yet, they perpetuate the issue, because once you have put in 2-3 hours of (delicious) afternoon sleep you don’t sleep as well in “normal” sleep time.

Here’s a side issue I’m wrestling with. I think I might have gotten covid some years ago that wreaked havoc with my lung capacity. Consequently I use an oxygen concentrator connected to my CPAP at night for supplemental oxygen. My pulmonary doctor also suggested I take a reduced strength Melatonin pill before bedtime to get a better more sound sleep. It works and the only side effect I noticed was I wake up groggy in the morning until I have my first cup of coffee. However, now I read a recent report that Melatonin may have a deleterious effect on one’s heart, so the issue I’m wrestling with is whether to stop taking Melatonin.
