Should be plenty of social workers available to fill in the openings. And people with advanced degrees to draw chalk outlines. What more do you need?

Oh, yeah - somebody to do maintenance on the revolving doors at all the jails.

Mamdani has pledged to close Rikers Island, and replace it with a number of smaller jails.

Maybe those new jails won’t have any doors at all.

Book ‘em and release ‘em, Danno.

Somehow I just can’t imagine a social worker filling in for a police officer. Never lived in NY but I seem to recall a NY police officer as being known as a pretty good cop. I’m just afraid that’s all going down the toilet now with a bonehead like Mamdani in charge. How this guy even got on the ballot is beyond me. Maybe he had a right to run, but I’d think that someone else should also have the right not to include his name on the ballot...considering what he is. Just knowing what he is should have been a major disqualification.
