US judge orders Trump administration to fully fund Snap benefits in November

A federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration on Thursday to find the money to fully fund food stamps for 42 million low-income Americans in November by Friday, in a rebuke to the government’s plan to only provide reduced aid during the shutdown.

US district judge John J McConnell Jr criticized the administration’s plan to partly fund Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Snap) benefits in November, saying it had failed to comply with an order he issued on Saturday requiring the government to ensure Americans received full or partial benefits no later than Wednesday.

He also said the administration plowed ahead with a plan to partly cover benefits without addressing – as required– the fact that in many states, it could take weeks or months to implement the reduced benefits.

So in weeks we have judges saying Trump cannot do tariffs because money is Congress domain. But Congress shuts down government and this judge says Trump has to fund this.

I can’t see why President Trump does not throw these two ahos in black robes in jail until they are taught to stay in their lanes. Neither of these two POS received any votes. Neither were elected. Get them the hell out of our election. Sting ‘em up.

I agree Thune should of
removed that current
Dem parliamentarian whose term has expired
and the wife of a Biden WH staffer .
That alone would help the situation .
That Bushy Rhino is part of the problem

If we have 42 hungry bass turds who are too lazy to feed themselves, why the hell did we let Joe Pedo and his RAT import 20 million foreign hungry bass of the same caliber? Worthless freeloaders. They should be forcing their own governments to buy them a sandwich.

Tell the two hos we American taxpayers WE THE PEOPLE don’t have the money. Let them use the judiciary’s funds to feed these hungry eating machines. The worthless bass turds don’t work. Why do they need to eat? Most of them look like they could lose a couple hundred pounds. Especially their kids.

Why not.

The POTUS sues Congress to pass the CR so he can do his job, and the judge can orders Congress to vote to pass the CR. Any member who abstains or votes against it will be in contempt of court.

The other option is the Court orders the Fed to print the needed money and deposit it all in the food stamp account.

This rogue judge has overstepped his jurisdiction injecting himself into a political matter. He is buying his fellow demonkkkraps time.

When did Judges start initiating budgeting?

Congress’ problem, only Congress can fix. And the problem with the congress is that there are democRATS within, many of whom owe their seats to election fraud.

Everybody worries about Trump becoming a dictator. Well, guess what? Here is a judge practically ORDERING Trump to be a dictator!

The Left isn’t mad that Trump acts like a dictator sometimes. They’re just mad that Trump wouldn’t be THEIR kind of dictator.

Was the money there to fund them .
I have no idea how much funding is mandatory no matter what like SS .
The 23 leftist states are with holding the details on there requested funds linked to that SNAP crap since its mostly illegals which is not allowed .
The Gop needs to hire a PR to blast that Fact but instead
just whisper the Dem evil games .

For decades, the principle of separation of powers has often been invoked selectively—used as a shield to preserve authority in the hands of the politcal left. One enduring concern I have with the Constitution is a structural flaw: when the judiciary issues rulings that arguably exceed its constitutional authority, it is that same judiciary which determines the legitimacy of its own actions. If the Supreme Court upholds such decisions, what recourse remains? Constitutional amendment? Civil unrest, or worse?

If POTUS today were to defy what he determines is an unconstitutional judicial order, the response would likely be immediate and framed as a constitutional crisis, with relentless calls for impeachment. Yet, when a judge actually oversteps constitutional bounds, that too should precipitate a crisis, but it does not.

If the judiciary can issue orders that effectively direct executive action—even with sweeping political and policy implications—then why is it impermissible for the executive to issue directives that interpret or nullify judicial decisions? The Constitution does not grant unilateral supremacy to any branch, yet in practice, rogue judicial rulings are treated with finality without reciprocal checks. This imbalance raises a fundamental question: If courts can act executively, why would executive judicial review considered a constitutional crisis?

I have never heard the talking head legal scholars ever broach this subject.

Should a future administration from the opposing political party take office, one might expect a flood of legal challenges. However, there is a strong suspicion that ideologically aligned judges would dismiss such cases on procedural grounds like standing or the political question doctrine.

In my view, the nation is in a precarious state. Its constitutional balance and institutional integrity may not endure unless the judiciary is eventually repopulated with jurists who embody the judicial philosophies and temperaments of figures like Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito.

The judiciary has the power of the purse.

Well this judge has the power to decide what color and style of purse he carries.

They are now saying they’ll fund it from “tariff revenues”. Lots they could have done.

Instead they didn’t just pitch a lazy ball down the middle to the Dems, they set it up as t-ball for them.
