Thanks!
I’ve lived and worked in Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooga once upon a time. Now that Nashville and Knoxville are overflowing and stuck in traffic gridlocks, it’s true that Chattanooga is turning into a new magnet for blue state escapees.
We born-and-raised-here locals make a huge distinction between refugees like you and those who arrive with noses in the air looking down on us ignorant inbred uncivilized hillbillies and aiming to remake our once genteel ways while behaving rudely and crudely and peppering every sentence with at least five F-bombs.
Yes, it’s true the whole country has changed. Well, mostly. Which is why I:m headed to Cajun Country, which is far less attractive to blue staters and has amazing real estate deals. I’ll be living a block from the beach (up in the chenier in a house untouched by Hurricane Ida) on Louisiana’s only barrier island. Gonna be catching redfish and blue crabs and living the gumbo life me, comme ca.
Goodbye dreary old mountains, hello Gulf!
