Lot of clueless responses here. She's not saying she doesn't believe in the death penalty, only that she's doesn't think that she is the one to decide. That is the purview of government authorities. As a Christian, what she says is perfectly biblical.

John 19:10-11:

Romans 13:1-9:
13 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. I haven’t come to any solid conclusion yet. I’m waiting to see if the many anomalies in this case can reasonably be explained.

If I dont miss my guess, Erika is looking at this from a fully Christian perspective. For her to advocate or tacitly approve of a penalty would, in her mind (and many other Chritains), put this on her “ledger” before God.

If the shooter has a mormon background he will probably be shot. mormon rules allows a murderer who is mormon to have his blood shed.

Capital punishment was part of the everlasting covenant God made with Noah and Noah’s progeny. Not keeping capital punishment is part of the reason the Tribulation (significant destruction of the earth) is coming.
