The Democrats were motivated to vote. Both Republican gubernatorial candidates trailed Trump’s 2024 performance by 10 percentage points. While New Jersey is blue, it had been trending toward moderation in this decade. Virginia has become South Maryland, a Democrat run one party state. The Trump Administration has triggered AWFUL voters to show up in large numbers. His economic performance has been good for the country but not particularly good for the middle and working class voter.

He should stop worrying about getting a Peace Prize and focus on domestic issues.
