Some AI queries:

What are the dominant job types for H1B people?

The dominant specialty occupation occupation (65%) for the last 10 years have been Computer Science or Computer Engineering types. STEM jobs in general are over 90% of H1B occupations.

Indian H1Bs are not concentrating in plumbing or brick masonry. They have to have a bachelors degree in some STEM discipline. “While a wide range of occupations qualify as specialty positions, the H-1B program remains heavily skewed toward technical and professional fields requiring a bachelor’s degree or higher in a directly related specialty.

This does NOT read like there are American Dreams being stolen. Now, just recently, I have definitely heard of Computer Science types unable to find jobs, but that is recent and not extending over the 10 years of the above stats. AI is taking those jobs, and it’s taking them from Indian H1Bs as much as from new Comp Sci grads.

“we’re holding companies accountable for their abuse”

Start by holding recruiters and sub-sub-contractors accountable.
