I work PT at a grocery store just outside the hood and we have been going through active shooter training. Wide open isles of food doesn’t give you much protection.

Does that training follow the "Run, Hide, Fight" priority system? Run from the building if possible. Hide if there is a good spot with a high probability of being undiscovered. Fight with anything you can use (if I was unarmed, I would grab wasp/hornet spray and a fire extinguisher - blind them with one or both, then beat them to death [or close to death] with the empty fire extinguisher bottle.)

Of course, I'm never unarmed, so I'm just as likely use my phone to blast out "Welcome to the Jungle" as loudly as possible and then ambush them when they come to investigate it. In my state,by law, I only have to justify the first shot - all others are considered justified, so long as I don't stand over them and issue a Coup de Gras with a shot to the head...
