Back from a lovely two hour Thanksgiving meal. There were 8 of us. First Thanksgiving meal in about 40 years where I did not have to cook, set up clean up. My friends were wonderful hosts. Beautiful room set up with candles good turkey dinner lovely table set up even name tags. The strudel turned out to be the only dessert and it was scarfed up and raved over. It was my serbian grandmothers recipe. I used honeycrisp apples. I left 2 pieces behind. And I brought simple steamed broccoli. I like it still on the green side but steamed, tossed with butter, salt, pepper and topped with some parmesan. Its been over 6 months since hubby passed and I have not been social at all, just FR and church and a veterans dinner a few weeks ago. I felt comfortable in my own skin. Still not all the way back but better.

Mom, so glad to hear of your Thanksgiving dinner. Your apple strudel looks amazing, and if you felt like sharing the recipe, I’d love to have it.
I love when vegetables are prepared simply as well as when they’re done more elaborately. Your broccoli looks so yummy!
I’m just catching up with the thread. Long travel day yesterday, and late dinner, but was wonderful. More on that later.
