You are close enough to Bristol to realize how far from D.C. they feel. Yet the populous NE Virginia crowd is strongly D.C. DS and vehemently anti Trump. SW Virginia, if they controlled their own destiny, would never be in favor of the values of their northern neighbors... but they lack the vote strength in state elections.
That is similar in many blue states - a disenfranchised more rural population.
Its not that I fail to sympathize with the rural/red population. I dont feel sorry for any VA that failed to vote though.
This crew is about as Anti Trump as they come they will be under close scrutiny
