I saw the image of the new submarine, and I thought it odd that it would be in Connecticut and then on the Thames River, which I thought was in England. Naturally, I pulled up Google Maps and saw that there is, indeed, a Thames River in Connecticut, and a River Thames that passes through London.
It’s pronounced Th-ames here, like Ren-Alts in the south (and tar arn,) etc...
