I’ve read on another thread BTT somewhere that the Guardsmen didn’t have guns, and that a fellow Guardsman stabbed the hog to bring him down.

If the initial information I’ve seen is accurate, does that mean the Guardsman are essentially sitting ducks, having no guns or live ammo? Makes me wonder WHY that would be allowed, given the inherent volatility of the situation.

I’ve also read that SecWar Hegseth wants to send 500 more Guardsmen to DC. While it’s definitely a noble gesture, what good would sending 500 more unarmed personnel be?

At least give the Guard the means by which they can defend themselves and each other.

The Guard have no arrest authority; they have been assisting the police - unarmed! That is the irony of nasty libs calling them 'fascists' - they are inviting armed resistance against unarmed soldiers.

The Left, including those in Congress, have become so despicable that I have not the words. I don't understand why their seditions and treasons are being tolerated by AG Pam Bondi.

I am not sure about the authority of arming the Guard; if there was armed insurrection then I am sure that they could be armed. One shooter in an urban setting likely falls short of 'armed insurrection'.
