Judge Boasberg ruled Thursday that U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro can present charges previously rejected by federal grand juries to a D.C. Superior Court grand jury, giving prosecutors a new path to pursue offenses such as treason, sedition, racketeering, and other major federal crimes through local indictments.

WWII Uncut: Combat Footage From D-Day to the Fall of Germany (1944 Restored)

Experience the European theater of World War II through the lens of a newly restored 1944 archival film, “D-Day to Germany.”
This unique documentary features the rare 16mm Kodachrome color film shot by Jack Lieb.
This educational military aviation documentary focuses on the relentless air campaign that supported the Allied ground offensive, moving from the shores of Normandy all the way to the heart of the Third Reich. View rare, period-accurate footage showcasing the tactical air support that made the victory possible.

This film explores the unsung engineering and operational details of the dominant Allied fighter-bombers of the 1944 era. Learn about the technological marvels that allowed these piston-engine aircraft to perform both as long-range high-altitude escorts for heavy bombers and as powerful close air support platforms for infantry. Key insights include the crucial role of the turbo-supercharger system, a complex piece of engineering that maintained engine power at extreme altitudes, giving the Allies a decisive advantage over the enemy. We also delve into the aircraft’s extraordinary battle-damage tolerance, which often allowed pilots to return home in planes that should have been downed, a feature born directly from its heavy construction and powerful engine.

This is more than just combat footage; it is a historical record of the industrial might and strategic innovation of the Second World War. We examine the massive logistical effort required to produce these warplanes in the tens of thousands, shifting the American economy entirely to war production by 1944. The sheer financial investment in this class of airpower—representing hundreds of millions of dollars—underscores its critical importance to the ultimate success of the Western Front.

For history buffs, military enthusiasts, and WWII scholars, this restored footage offers a compelling, ground-level view of the final phases of the European conflict, illustrating the coordination between air power and ground forces as they drove towards victory.

General Information About the Aircraft Program
The aircraft highlighted in this era of the war was designed to meet a dual role: long-range escort and ground attack. This versatility demanded advanced engineering solutions, most notably the integration of a powerful engine and a sophisticated exhaust-driven turbo-supercharger. The latter system allowed the engine to operate efficiently at altitudes over 30,000 feet, which was essential for defending high-flying strategic bombers. The production program reached its peak in 1944, with multiple assembly lines across the United States contributing to the manufacture of thousands of units, making it one of the most numerous and financially significant military projects of the entire war. The success of this design validated the concept of a single, durable airframe capable of adapting to almost any tactical situation across the theater of operations.

@TrueGenFlynn

There are animals in our midst. If we don’t get law enforcement leaders across our communities to create a safe and secure environment, don’t count on the cavalry coming from WDC.

Communities must figure out ways to self protect but key is to ensure you work closely with local law enforcement.

Without an effective partnership, tragically, people get hurt.
