Amen sister! We had 12 for Thanksgiving lunch this past Saturday and I thank GOD for a double oven. My daughter in law asked me to “train” her on the intricacies of putting 10 dishes out hot at the same time. It is an art and took a week to prepare and plan for it. It used to be easy but at 66 years, I was exhausted. The food was good and clean up was supposed to be easy (plastic throw away plates) until the sister in law asked if she could keep the disposable plates....
Amazingly, someone annointed my husband KING and he claimed the recliner throne, managing to avoid kitchen duties. The clean up and dividing up left overs did me in. Next year will be different if it hair-lips the Pope.
Prayers up for all the folks tasked with the “work” of Thanksgiving, that it not take priority over God’s gracious blessing in our lives. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
